Faun with Kid, after the Roman StatueA splendid rendition of the Roman statue of the Faun with Kid created in stone composite Mid 20th Century. The sculpture depicts the satyr, half man half animal. He has pointed ears, small horns and a tail to his rear. He bears a kid on his shoulders to take part in celebrations at a Dionysian festival. The original sculpture was Hellenistic belonging to the school of Pergamum (160 150 B. C.) our piece is taken from a Roman copy which was discovered
